The Ohio State Herbarium Library

The OS herbarium library comprises volumes that are part of the OSU libraries main system, as well as collections that belong to the herbarium. All materials eventually will be cataloged in the OSU Libraries system OSCAR. Journals and books that are listed as being in the herbarium on OSCAR can be used in the library or requested through the BPL library, as we do not have facilities for charging books out in the herbarium library. Materials that belong to the herbarium do not circulate
but may be used in the library during our regular business hours or by appointment appointment.

The library includes the Rudolph collection, housed in the Rudolph Reading Room, and a rare book collection that contains old volumes (from the sixteenth century onwards) that are given special care.
The herbarium archives contain materials of historical importance that are associated with personnel and collections of the OSU herbarium. Individuals wishing to access these materials must contact the staff to arrange for their use.

Dr. Ron Stuckey (614-292-6095) is particularly knowledgeable about these materials and is a good resource to contact.
